Teen Bedroom Suites – Things To Think About

Buying a bedroom suite for your teen is very different from buying a bedroom set for your toddler or for yourself. A teenager has certain criteria that need to be met with their bedroom furniture. For a teenager their bedroom is their ‘everything’, at this age they like to have their own space and feel a little more independent and so their bedroom needs to satisfy this. Here are some tips to take into consideration when shopping for a bedroom suite for your teen.

1. What does your teen need? Before you set out shopping for your teen’s new bedroom suite decide what they will be using the space for, for example they will need a study area for homework, a living area for when friends come over, and then the usual sleeping and clothing furniture pieces.
2. Think about the space available. Now that you know what your teen needs you need to be realistic as to what we will actually fit into the bedroom with the space you have available. Draw out a plan of the bedroom and the bedroom suite pieces and see how they will fit together.
3. Space saving bedroom set ideas. If you are short on space for all your teens needs then have a think about some space saving ideas. Teenagers have a lot of things to store such as books, CDs, DVDs, clothes etc and so be sure to choose a bedroom suite that has many storage features. Think about different options for space saving such as pull down bed from the wall so that during the day the bed can be easily stored away giving the teen more living space.
4. Bedroom set colours and themes. Teenagers can change their minds quite regularly especially when it comes to what is in fashion and what they like and so try and choose a bedroom suite that is quite neutral. A great way of adding colour is through bedroom furnishings which can easily and cheaply be changed to a different colour scheme as and when.
