Arranging Bedroom Furnishings and Furniture
The main aim of your bedroom is to be as relaxing as possible because this is the place where you will rejuvenate yourself for the next day ahead. Your bedroom furniture and bedroom furnishings play a huge part in how relaxing your bedroom actually is. There are many ways you can easily and quickly change your bedroom in order to make it feel more harmonious and soothing.
The first job to do before you start re-arranging furniture etc is to have a good look around your room and take note of what you actually have. Consider all the large pieces such as your bedroom suite, any other items of bedroom furniture you may have, personal belongings, and so on. Now take a piece of paper and draw a plan of your room. Mark on the plan where your window lies and the doors and the shape of the room. This is a great way for you to play about with the arrangement of your bedroom furnishings without actually having to move anything. It is important to get the dimensions right with your plan and so do a scale of the room compared to that of your bedroom furnishings. You do not want to make a plan where your bed is smaller than your mirror and come to move it all around and realise it doesn’t fit.
When arranging the furniture on your plan be sure to keep the room as spacious and as free as possible. This will make the atmosphere and feeling of the room more relaxing and chilled out. Place items of bedroom furnishings that you do not use very often out of the way so that the items you do use are easily accessible. Have happy memories surrounding you so that you always feel happy and calm in your bedroom and remove anything that is old and unwanted in your life. Keep the floor area as clear as possible; you may want to think about adding some shelves to your room so that you can keep your bedroom furnishings out on display but out of the way of the floor.
